Adam started playing pool at the age of three. Most of his youth was spent in and out of game rooms perfecting his skill as a pool player. He has won a few tournaments such as the New Mexico State Championship but spent most of his young adulthood on the road. After traveling the country for a few years Adam decided to settle down in Albuquerque New Mexico. His years of experience as a pool player left him unsatisfied with the cues that were available for playing the sport. That is when he decided he would find out how to make a pool cue that would satisfy his need for a precision instrument. In 1987 Adam Franks set out to create his cue. He took classes for basic machine tool technology and after years of research and development he is creating one of the best, handcrafted cues in the world. Adam Franks was born and raised in Corrales, New Mexico. Corrales is a small country community outside of Albuquerque. It is mostly made up of small orchards, wineries, and horse ranches but the most important influence on Adam's life is the artists that live in Corrales. Also, New Mexico is home to over fifteen different Indian reservations with most located near the Albuquerque/Santa Fe area. The patterns used by the Native Americans in this area, combined with the art of the Spanish American settlers, created a unique New Mexican style. Heavily influenced by some of the greatest artists in the world that live here in New Mexico, Adam brings to life a New Mexican style in his cue designs. Combining traditional cue styles with his southwestern style, Adam creates a one-of-a-kind artistic masterpiece in each cue. Today Adam is at the top of his field! His artistic style combined with his engineering know how has brought him to the point of producing one of the finest cues in the world. Each cue is handcrafted from the finest of materials and personalized with Adam's fingerprint logo on the forearm. |
